Left Bank is an amazing space for creativity, contemplation and celebration. Standing in the heart of Leeds 6, the building is a versatile venue, available to hire for both public and private events.

What kind of events?

From festivals to fashion shows - Left Bank has hosted interactive theatre, art exhibitions, fashion shows, beer festivals, weddings and private parties. If you have an idea, please talk to us about it.

Music - the church of St Margaret had a strong musical heritage and always had a choir, which is not surprising since acapella singing sounds amazing. It's a great venue for music and we have hosted classical and contemporary music concerts, from baroque recorder music to folk and experimental electronica, with all sorts of genres in between.

The acoustics are very lively and so the space can also be used for sound recording where you're lookingfor natural sustain.

Filming & Recording - Left Bank is also an unusual backdrop for photo shoots, music videos and films.

Worship - Left Bank is a really dramatic backdrop for creative Christian worship, meditation, contemplation and celebration. If you’re a congregation that would like a change of scene for a week or two, or if you have an event that would benefit from an unusual space, please get in touch. (There is no charge to use Left Bank for worship, though donations towards electricity and caretaking costs are appreciated).

Facilities

There's still quite a lot of work to be done to the building but don't let that put you off! We have electricity and two loos, though no kitchen facilities, heating or parking. This hasn't stopped people putting on all manner of fantastic events, so all things are possible, if you don't mind a hands on approach...

Accessibility

At present the majority of the building is on one level and there is a single step at the entrance. A portable ramp can be provided for wheelchair access. Once the building is redeveloped permanent wheelchair access, toilet facilities and audio loop will be available.
