Leeds Poetry Festival I How Do!?

Carla Mellor, Laura Graham and Jack Collins are here for an all-too-real (and slightly comic) view on growing up Northern and the many forms it takes. Join them at Leeds Poetry Festival 2022 for a fantastic showcase event.

Carla Mellor is a Wigan-based Yorkshire poet who writes 'poetry for the people'; accessible, down to earth, and relatable poems for the everyday. In 2020 Carla worked on commissions for the BBC and her debut poetry collection SCRAPS was published in 2021 by Wrecking Ball Press.

Laura Graham is a stand up poet from Leeds and 2022 Hammer and Tongue national slam finalist. She has been shortlisted for Leeds Poetry Festival Competition, featured on BBC Radio York and performed at events such as the Vagina Festival and Sonnet Youth Weekender. She writes playful poetry that packs a punch about midlife, menopause and the north. She also does stand up comedy and might make you laugh but don’t feel obliged.

Jack Collins is a poet, SEN tutor and work-shopper from Leeds who believes firmly in the power of community and poetry. Jack’s focus in poetry is the stage, proudly courting an obsession with people and the oral tradition.
