Another brilliant event brought to you by Leeds Poetry Festival.
It'll be an incredible, creative and diverse show comprising 15 performers, including Undergraduate students, Master's students and professors on the BA Hons Creative Writing course at Leeds Arts' University. With contributions of sound, spoken word, poetry and visual art, the show promises to be an immersive experience, with performances from Alex Callaghan, Anna Brizzolara, Beth Harrison, Caitlin Stobie, Chase Miller, Edward Tagg, Hannah Prince, Jarvis Gooden, Joe Hunter, Ruby Dearing, Leah Darton, Lizzie Mitchell, Lottie Scroggie, Midge Ryall, Katy Clark and special guest Maria Ferguson.
Maria Ferguson is an award-winning writer and performer, originally from Essex and now based in Leeds. She has been a resident artist for the Roundhouse and Battersea Arts Centre and commissioned by the Royal Academy of Art, Stylist magazine and BBC Radio. Her debut one-woman show Fat Girls Don't Dance won the Saboteur Award for Best Spoken Word Show and her follow-up Essex Girl was shortlisted for Soho Theatre's Tony Craze Award and won Show of the Week at VAULT Festival 2019. Both are published by Bloomsbury. Her poetry has been anthologised by Bad Betty Press and Highly Commended by the Forward Prizes. Her debut collection Alright, Girl? is published by Burning Eye.
