Creating Climate Futures: Audio Artworks

2022

Throughout March, we hosted the Creating Climate Future workshops — a collaborative project with the School of Performance and Cultural Industries at the University of Leeds!

Each workshop adopted a different climate-related focus and was facilitated by a small group of students, who are training in co-creative practice and community facilitation. The result of these workshops was a series of amazing audio artworks inspired by the climate discussion, action and activism of communities within and around Left Bank.

You can listen to these artworks below:

Return to Nature

When was the last time you took a moment to get back to nature? In our ever-changing world, and fight against climate change, sometimes it's easy to forget what it's all for. Join us on a journey, starting in the heart of Burley at Left Bank Leeds, and let your mind transcend the urban landscape as you listen to the sounds of the Yorkshire countryside, and engage in conversations about what our relationship with nature means to us

Wild Hyde

Is radio a thing of the past? Not for these guys. Tune in to a spectacular world of animals to see what they think about the world right under our noses. An interesting insight into the ever-changing streets we walk on every day. The battle of balancing urbanisation and biodiversity is ongoing, but we will persevere.

The Jean's Journey

Enchanting, engaging and educational! Join us on a journey, the journey of Julie Jeans. Learn how a tiny fibre of cotton, picked from a farm in the Xinjiang region in China transforms, and finds its way into a jeans factory in London. But what happens next? Find out as you travel from North West China all the way to Leeds, West Yorkshire - buckle in, it’s going to be a bumpy ride.
