INTERVIEW: LIANNE, GLAZED & CONFUSED

We love donuts (and all things tasty). That's why we're such big fans of Glazed and Confused — some of the most delicious vegans donuts out there and made right here in Leeds. And they'll be back in Left Bank at this week's night market.

We caught up with owner Lianne — also our new cafe manager! — about how it all began.

Hey Lianne! Tell us about Glazed and Confused.

Glazed and Confused started as a lockdown business! I had been furloughed from Pizza Express and my previous events business had been put on hold. Previously, I had veganised a lot of recipes with Sugar Spun Sisters, so I decided to transfer those skills into vegan donuts!

We built up a big fan base with home delivery before moving into wholesale and events.

When did you start bringing your delicious donuts to Left Bank?

My first market at Left Bank was Halloween 2020; it was a strange one because it was the first time I had been around the general public in months. It's always lovely to meet our customers and make new friends too. The selection of traders is always great quality and interesting.

The venue is absolutely stunning — when the sun streams through the venue it's glorious. I love the range of events on the lineup, it's transformed into a great, inclusive community space. There's a general buzz that people are happy to be there and a very friendly atmosphere.

And — very important — when are you next popping by?

You can find Glazed and Confused at the Night Market on the 18th of March. You'll also be seeing a lot more of me as I'm taking on the role of Cafe Manager!

Thanks Lianne!
