Join Our Community Art Class – Now Open to Everyone! 🎨
Originally set up in partnership with OWLS (Older Wiser Leeds Seniors) for local older adults, we’re excited to announce that our popular Art Class is now open to everyone in the community!
In our effort to provide affordable, accessible creative opportunities for all, we invite you to come along and join our friendly, welcoming group.. This is a fantastic chance to enjoy the benefits of being creative, meet new people, and explore a wide variety of artistic practices.
Luisa Freitas is a visual artist working in illustration and 2D animation, using both traditional and digital media. Through workshops and participatory initiatives delivered in schools, museums, and local communities, her work seeks to broaden access to the arts and foster meaningful engagement across diverse audiences.
About the Watercolour Painting workshop: (7th April)
Join us for an inspiring morning workshop where you’ll discover how to paint with watercolour and experiment with mediums to push, blend, and manipulate pigment. Watercolour is a wonderfully expressive and playful medium, and throughout the session you’ll explore a variety of techniques to create vibrant, dynamic compositions full of life and colour.
About the Soft Pastel Drawing Workshop: (14th April)
In this inspiring Soft Pastel Drawing session, you’ll learn a range of techniques to bring your artwork to life. Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to refine your skills, this workshop is designed to guide you step by step in a relaxed and supportive environment.
Attendees are encouraged to bring an item to work from, a small object of sentimental value to make prints from - no worries if you don’t have one as there will be a few spares provided at the session!'
Each session is led by a mix of practicing artists, including both paid professionals and volunteers, helping us keep the group sustainable while also supporting early-career artists with paid opportunities.
We have concession tickets for the community as well as tickets for those who may be able to pay forward to help support us in paying for artists & materials.

☕ Our on-site café is open too — perfect for a drink, snack, or lunch before or after class.
