Join Edek's Doodle Chat sessions in our local green space, Burley Park, for a relaxing blend of creativity and conversation. Explore the surrounding inspiration, and stretch your legs as we sketch, doodle, and connect amidst nature.
Edek’s Doodle Chat is a relaxed social group which anyone is welcome to join for free! Our aim during these sessions is to provide everyone with safe space to talk and listen. An opportunity to be social and prioritise well-being with your community. *Please note, while therapeutic, this is not art therapy or a substitute for professional mental health support.
While these sessions will be predominantly outside at the park, there will also be an opportunity to head over to Left Bank to continue your artistic journey in a cosy setting. Our Café will be open if you would like to sit and relax in our little pocket park, or head inside to explore our collection of board games! You could even head back to Burley Park with your drink to soak up the sunshine a little longer! (Getting a hot drink to go? Don’t forget your reusable cup!!)
About Edek:
Edek Thompson, our local community artist, leads these sessions, drawing from his own experience to foster mental well-being through art.
Edek also runs Doodle Chats at Left Bank on a Wednesday (3pm-5:30pm and 6pm-9pm). These sessions are frequent but not weekly. Please check our calendar here to see when Edek will be with us!
Further Info:
What will you need? We recommend bringing along a sketchbook/paper, some drawing materials and something to rest on. Edek will have some materials on him too.

This session is brought to you from Left Bank Leeds and Love Leeds Parks, who work to fund and support local Leeds communities to improve and use their local public green spaces, like Burley Park, with support from the National Lottery Heritage Fund! Love Leeds Parks work in partnership with Leeds City Council who own and manage much of the public green space in Leeds, and Leeds Parks and Green Spaces Forum which provides a voice for communities who care about local green spaces.
