Expanding on her solo exhibition A Life of its Own, presented at BLANK_ Gallery earlier this year, A Life of its Own ll will showcase select works from this recent project, featuring some older works and some new from artist Mia Symonds.

The collaboration between the works on display in this exhibition will explore Mia’s continuing research around ideas of care and collection, unearthing methodologies of preservation across material and metaphor.

With a particular interest in what objects and materials have the power to signify, Mia questions; how much can we understand about ourselves and our world through the things we hold onto? Whether as a means of routine or ritual, tradition or transformation; these ‘things’ which make up our constructed material world reflect the ways we choose to live within it.
