Join us at Left Bank for a free drop-in workshop as part of From Ashes, a new project commissioned for Compass Festival 2026.

Over the coming months, artists, architects and community members will work together to create a large-scale paper model of Leeds, made up of 2,000 individually crafted buildings. Designed by local architecture practices including 3xa Design, Page Park, Bauman Lyons, Whitby Wood and KPP, the models celebrate the city's houses, shops and iconic landmarks.

Come along to help build the city, learn simple papercraft techniques, and watch Leeds take shape piece by piece. Whether you stay for ten minutes or the whole session, everyone is welcome and no experience is necessary.

This workshop is free to attend and forms part of the ongoing development of From Ashes, which will be presented at Compass Festival in November 2026.
